Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, predicts that the matter concerning increase of social standards will become one of the priority issues to be scrutinized by the Parliament at the beginning of a new session.
Within the scope of the working visit to Donetsk region on Saturday, V.Lytvyn answered the questions of the journalists and stated that the said matter required "serious discussion", as "zero purchasing capacity of the population prevents the development of the domestic market, which makes a closed circle".
V.Lytvyn supposes that the said matter requires a common stand and a coordinated approach. Moreover, the laws adopted by The Verkhovna Rada should be supported financially, as "a great many laws are ineffective due to the inadequate funding".
As far as adoption of the State Budget for 2010 is concerned, V.Lytvyn stated that it should be a budget of development, as "a social budget without any prospects of development of the country and its economy is a blind alley and must be avoided".
